Born in Akron and raised in Canton, Ohio, Hip Hop became Hink’s first love. Over the years, from his early 90’s beginning to the present day, Hink’s music has been a way to express his feelings: Never knowing his father; Leaving home at fourteen; Raising his brother alone; Relationship struggles; and, the tragic passing of his daughter.
Hink made the move from Ohio to Miami in 2001, with his car, his clothes, and literally just $300 in his pocket. The gamble paid off. Not only has he been able to perform in other cities around the world, but living in the international city of Miami, he has had the opportunity to work with artists from diverse cultures including The Bahamas, Colombia, Haiti, Ireland, and Italy, just to name a few.
Embracing other traditions, but still representing his Midwestern roots, Hink continues to reach out and let others know where he is from – with a positive vibe. This is what Hink is about – Miami is now Home, but Ohio will always be in his Soul.
