Otago University Migrates from Blackboard to D2L Brightspace

Instructors can create more interactive learning experiences using D2L Lumi, Creator+ and H5P

MELBOURNE, Australia, July 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- D2L, a global learning technology company, has been chosen by University of Otago, New Zealand's oldest premier university, to help support all its programmes, online short courses, and for its staff training.

The University of Otago found D2L Brightspace was the winner to replace its legacy platform, Blackboard. With D2L Brightspace, the University of Otago can leverage the reimagined D2L Creator+, powered by H5P, to help instructors create more high-quality, delightful learning experiences, and the powerful D2L Lumi – D2L's AI-native offering within D2L Brightspace – designed to help save instructors time, create more compelling content, and enable a more highly accessible learning experience.
