The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), is the entrance exam conducted for MBBS and BDS programs in Indian medical and dental colleges. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the NEET exam. NEET is a 3-hour pen and paper-based exam. It tests knowledge related to biology, chemistry, and physics. Previously known as All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT). The exam is offered once a year. The score range is from -180 to +720 and the qualification rate is 56.44%. This exam occurs in various languages like Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

NEET is the most challenging single entrance exam in India for students who desire to pursue a career in the medical field. Students plan for a long time to crack the NEET examination. One has to opt for the science stream in class 11 so, need to get good marks in class 10. MBBS is the course that requires utmost determination. Numerous students start preparing from Class 11 only. Students spend a lot of money on coaching centers.

There is no limit to the number of attempts in this test. 

The minimum age of the candidate should be 17 years completed at the time of admission or complete the age on or before the end of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course. There are a total of 355 MBBS and 300 Dental colleges have been listed by MCI.

NEET Exam pattern 

NEET Exam comprises an aggregate of 180 questions in the test, in which 45 questions are from Physics, 45 from Chemistry, 45 from Botany, and 45 from Zoology. Each right answer gets 4 marks and each wrong answer gets - 1 negative marking. This exam is of a total of 720 marks.

Though In 2021, there was a slight change in the NEET exam pattern. The paper comprised of two sections: Section A and section B in each of the four subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Section A comprises 35 questions and Section B comprises 15 questions out of which 10  questions should be filled.
