Wash with cold water

So save yourself some power and wash with cold water.
Stop leaving devices on standby
This is something that so many of us are guilty of, but it can use up small amounts of power that can add up. If you leave a device on standby, such as a TV or a charger, you will still see a small light on the device. Power is still going to it, even if you’re not using it! A simple thing to do is to switch them off fully when not in use and you’ll be able to save power.
Eliminate unnecessary appliances
If you have a second fridge or freezer in a basement or garage, then it is important to consider if this is something that is needed anymore. They can guzzle up power, so why have two when you only need to have one? By getting rid of a second fridge or freezer, it could save you over $170 a year.
Learning to make changes that can reduce your power bill is simple, but it is something that you need to make a conscious effort with. Not only will you save yourself money on your bill, but you will be doing your bit for the environment too.
