MOLLY C. QUINN TAKES ON WHITNEY AVALON IN ALL-NEW “PRINCESS RAP BATTLE”

‘KATNISS VS. HERMIONE’ EPISODE OFFICIALLY PREMIERES TODAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2015

Avalon was in Variety’s Comedy Impact Report last week alongside other high-profile “mirth maestros” like Judd Apatow, Elizabeth Banks, Eddie Murphy, Paul Rudd, and Lily Tomlin thanks to the worldwide reach of her work.

The fan-favorite series, which features fictional female characters slinging insults at each other to hip-hop beats, has a twist at the end this time around. “I thought it was especially important to show that there’s actually camaraderie between them, that it’s a clever game of words and they’re not actually enemies.”

Avalon, an established commercial and sitcom actor/singer, created the series and writes, produces, and performs in each one (previously as ‘Snow White,’ ‘Leia,’ ‘Mary Poppins,’ ‘Belle’ opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar as ‘Cinderella,’ and ‘Maleficent’ opposite Yvonne Strahovski as ‘Daenerys Targaryen’) – with co-writer/co-producer STEVE GOSSETT directing and editing.

The dynamic duo did extensive study on these characters and their worlds before writing the project."We couldn't do these characters justice if we weren't willing to do the research," says Gossett "so we read all 10 books and watched all 11 films."

Avalon and Gossett plan to continue the season of rap battles, in addition to creating more of the comedy songs and short films that also populate the channel.
