In the spirit of believing, on Sunday, December 6, Wish Families will take a ride down Church Street in a horse-drawn wagon to drop off their letters to Santa at Macy’s.

WHAT: Holiday party for Wish Kids and their families, followed by a Horse-Drawn Wagon ride down Church Street to drop off letters to Santa.

WHERE: The holiday party will be hosted at Make-A-Wish Vermont Offices, 431 Pine Street, Suite 214, Burlington, VT 05401. The Horse-Drawn Wagon ride will begin at the office location, down Pine Street, up Main Street and will go straight down Church Street, stopping at the Burlington Town Center Entrance on Church Street. The Horse-Drawn Wagon ride will take two trips to accommodate all Wish Kids and their siblings.

WHEN: The holiday party will begin at 12:00pm on Sunday, December 6 and the first wagon ride will leave the office at 1:00p.m. All activities will conclude at approximately 2:00p.m.

KEY TIMES:

·         12:30p.m. Santa Arrives at Make-A-Wish Vermont office to give gifts to Wish Kids.

·         1:00p.m. First Wagon Ride Leaves Office. The wagon will arrive at the Burlington Town Center entrance on Church Street around 1:15 p.m.

·         1:30p.m. Second wagon ride Leaves Office. The wagon will arrive at the Burlington Town Center entrance on Church Street around 1:45p.m.

WHY: The purpose of the event is to bring holiday cheer to Make-A-Wish Vermont’s Wish Kids and their families and to encourage the community to write letters to Santa and to drop them off at the Macy’s store in Burlington by December 11th. For every letter written, Macy’s donates $1 to Make-A-Wish America, up to $1,000,000.

Make-A-Wish Vermont

Make-A-Wish Vermont grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. A wish is often the turning point in a child’s recovery. Since 1989, Make-A-Wish Vermont has granted over 725 wishes.
