South Point Hotel, Casino Spa Hires Chris Andrews as Sports Book Director

Las Vegas – South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa welcomes Chris Andrews as Sports Book Director to oversee the day-to-day management of Las Vegas’ premier Sports Book.

Andrews’ extensive professional background and expertise in supervising daily operations for Sports Books showcases his natural ability to manage the unique and demanding nature of the industry. In his new role, Andrews is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects for the South Point Sports Book including but not limited to the management of wagering odds, operating sports betting windows and supervising all procedures and controls for the Sports Book department.

Andrews got his start in the gaming industry in 1981 as the vice president of race and sports book operations for Club Cal Neva. For the next 22 years, Andrews grew the sports book from a two window operation to a prominent operation in Nevada. During his time there he created a variety of betting propositions, which are now recognized as industry standards. In 2011, Andrews rejoined Club Cal Neva as the assistant sports book director and facilitated the property's transition to William Hill.

From 2003 to 2005, Andrews worked as the vice president of race and sports operations for Golden Nugget Las Vegas. Following his time at Golden Nugget, Andrews went on to serve as the vice president of Northern Nevada operations for American Wagering Incorporated (AWI) from 2005 to 2008. During his time there, Andrews oversaw all operational aspects for more than 30 race and sports books for AWI in Northern Nevada. 

In addition to an extensive background in the gaming industry, Andrews hosted the ESPN 94.5 radio show “The Chris Andrews Show,” which focused on sports and sports betting.
