“Freya vs. Ravenna” Episode Premieres Today, April 6, 2016

LOS ANGELES (April 6, 2016) – Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the most powerful of them all? The world will find out in WHITNEY AVALON’s next wildly popular PRINCESS RAP BATTLE, inspired by the upcoming epic film The Huntsman: Winter’s War, in theaters April 22.

Kids’ Choice Award-winner LAURA MARANO plays Ravenna, the Evil Queen, while Avalon portrays her good sister, Freya, the Ice Queen. Marano, who just finished four successful seasons on Austin & Ally, shows her musical versatility: this week marks the premiere of both the rap battle and her first single “BOOMBOX” off her upcoming album being released by Big Machine Records.

The “Freya vs. Ravenna” installment of Princess Rap Battles is currently playing on http://youtube.com/whitneyavalon, which is one of YouTube’s fastest-growing independent channels with 720,000 subscribers and 225 million views since late 2014. Avalon was in Variety’s Comedy Impact Report in November alongside other high-profile “mirth maestros” thanks to the worldwide reach of her work.

The fan-favorite series, which features fictional female characters slinging insults at each other to hip-hop beats, is bigger than ever this time: there’s a third team of rappers! DEREK THELER, the 6’6” star of Baby Daddy, arrives as the Huntsman himself to interrupt the sibling rivalry, alongside JESSICA BISHOP as the warrior Sara.

“Every single member of this cast rocks,” says Avalon. “Laura brings such musicality and fun to Ravenna, Derek is the perfect chiseled action hero, and everyone is fearless and hilarious.”

Avalon, an established commercial and sitcom actor/singer, created the series and writes, produces, and performs in each one (previously as Snow White, Leia, Mary Poppins, Belle opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar as Cinderella, Maleficent opposite Yvonne Strahovski as Daenerys, and Katniss opposite Molly C. Quinn as Hermione) – with co-writer/co-producer STEVE GOSSETT directing and editing.

Avalon and Gossett plan to continue the season of rap battles, in addition to creating more of the comedy songs and short films that also populate the channel.
