8-PART TV MINISERIES KICKS-OFF ON JUNE 15, 2015
THE MAKING OF THE MOB: NEW YORK begins in 1905 and spans more than 50 years, tracing the original five families that led to the modern American Mafia. Celisano steps in as Al Capone, the most violent man in America, when gangster Charles ‘Lucky’ Luciano (Rich Graff) is sent to stop him in the wake of the St. Valentine’s Day massacre.
Celisano was thrilled to add his name to the list of elite actors who have been tapped to portray this iconic gangster. Celisano adds, "To say I'm humbled and honored almost feels like an understatement. I grew up idolizing some of these actors so it was a bit overwhelming and definitely a dream come true."
Coming soon, Celisano stars in the indie horror film, THE CHANGING OF BEN MOORE, due to release digitally on iTunes, Amazon and Xbox beginning June 16th and in stores on August 11th. Up next, he heads back to set, shooting a supporting role of the indie horror film, BY DAY’S END, due out in 2016.
Most recently, Celisano’s received high-praise for his starring role in the short film SUPER ZERO, portraying a geeky, terminally ill loner who goes from utter insignificance to becoming humanity's last hope for survival after the zombie apocalypse. His previous credits also include roles on Nickelodeon’s TV comedy movie RAGS, FOX’s sci-fi drama FRINGE, and numerous festival favorite indie shorts.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Celisano graduated from Humber College with a Business Marketing degree. Although he now resides in Los Angeles, Celisano still loves to play and watch hockey.
Umberto Celisano is represented by Webster Talent Management (Vancouver) and Beth Stein and Associates (Los Angeles).
