EPSILON THEATER COMPANY PRESENTS “SPIKE HEELS”

Los Angeles, CA. September 27, 2015 — Epsilon Theater Company presents SPIKE HEELS, a contemporary “comedy of manners” from critically-acclaimed playwright Theresa Rebeck. The production is directed by Shoshanna Chagall and features the talents of actors Lili Bordán, Nancy Degnan, Grafton Doyle, and Philipp Maximilian. The one-time performance will take place Wednesday, September 30 at SPACE Bohemia Art Gallery.

In this wry twist on the old Pygmalion fable, a sensitive political philosophy professor named Andrew sets out to transform the tawdry ways of his working class upstairs neighbor, the street-smart, oversexed, spike-heels-wearing Georgie. Andrew introduces Georgie to literature, attempts to reform her profanity-laced speech, and secures her a job as a legal secretary with his best friend, Edward, a smarmy, womanizing lawyer. When Georgie rebuffs Edward’s sexual advances at work, she sets off a chain of explosive arguments and romantic revelations that build to a final confrontation in which Andrew, Georgie, Edward, and Andrew’s upper-crust fiancée, Lydia, are forced to face their deepest-held beliefs on sex, social class, and the human capacity for change. 

Epsilon Theater Company was founded last year by producers and actors Grafton Doyle and Daniel Korth with a focus on producing exceptional theater in non-traditional spaces, including private homes, hotel rooms, party venues, and art galleries, so as to immerse the audience in the story. The result is an utterly unique theater experience that combines the intimacy of film with the power of live performance.
