Autumn Color Explosion - River Rock Gardens & Cottage

Take a deep, cleansing breath of Wyoming’s fresh mountain air and enjoy the glorious color-explosion of autumn at River Rock Garden’s Cottage. Stroll through our meandering leaf-strewn pathways and marvel at dozens of richly hued mature trees, almost bursting with the vibrant reds, burnt oranges and gold of the season. Fish at the Popo Agie River that stretches through the length of our property, or just relax and journal, visit, or simply enjoy the solitude at one of our peaceful ponds, riverside gazebo, or secluded wildlife haven. Join a guided three to four hour field tour to experience wild sheep in their winter range. This customized tour is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers and small groups. We begin the tour at the National Bighorn Sheep Center, providing a thorough background introduction to the Whiskey Basin Habitat area, bighorn sheep biology and the history of wild sheep. We then drive to specific locations where bighorn sheep have been recently sighted and learn more about their habitat and biology in the field. We provide binoculars, transportation and knowledgeable guides. Hankering for something off the wall to do? Look no further! His and hers defensive training starts 1pm-6pm. Both will receive personalized defensive pistol live-fire instruction and shooting with former Green Beret and international tactical training instructor Brian Bewley. No experience necessary. Bring your own firearms and ammunition, or you can rent firearms and purchase ammunition from our on-site pro-shop. A certificate of completion will be provided to each participant that meets the minimum training standards for issuance of the Wyoming Concealed Firearms Permit (Wyoming Residents only). Afterwards settle down to a romantic dinner, music, and a bottle of wine at the Grizzly Rock Ranch Mess Hall & Sunset Bar. Note that reservations required in advance for this unique event! No experience necessary, must be 18 yrs +. Participants must not be prohibited from using firearms. Maximum 4 couples per event.
