LOS ANGELES (November 5, 2015) – Actor EIDAN HANZEI has joined the cast of TNT’s The Last Ship in a recurring guest-star role for Season Three, set to return in 2016. While details for the season are still under wraps, it promises to be an exciting action/adventure role.

TNT's blockbuster hit The Last Ship deals with a global catastrophe that nearly decimates the world's population. Because of its positioning, the Navy destroyer U.S.S. Nathan James avoids falling victim to the devastating tragedy. The captain and crew confront the reality of their new existence in a world where they may be among the few remaining survivors.

This announcement comes on the heels of Hanzei wrapping a starring role in the European film production, Fallen Idols, a 19th century love story shot in Wakayama, Japan.

Hanzei has a long history of portraying warriors, including starring in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III as Prince Kenshin Norinaga, a time-traveling samurai from the 1600’s, modeled after his own ancestor Nobunaga Oda, who ruled Japan at that time. Audiences also recognize Hanzei for his notable role as 16th-century daimyo Hideie Ukita in the BBC/Japan coproduction Heroes & Villains: Samurai; and as Detective Dean Alawa on the popular CBS crime-drama, Hawaii Five-0.

About TNT’s The Last Ship:

Based on William Brinkley's popular novel, The Last Ship comes to TNT from Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes and its partners, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form, whose credits include the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Bay, Fuller and Form serve as executive producers, along with creator-showrunners Hank Steinberg (Without a Trace, 61*), Steven Kane (The Closer) and executive producer and director Michael Katleman.

Eidan Hanzei is represented by The Ward Agency and Whitaker Entertainment.
