So Apple iPads could be the best tablets available in a world of diminishing Android tablets, these devices are incredibly popular and for some models incredibly expensive so when it comes to devices like these what is it that someone can do to save money? I mean, you could buy used and buying used is generally people's first thought but this can present a huge risk as the device might have an issue that the seller is not telling you about. So, how can someone save money without the risk of receiving a dodgy device? Well, you should go for a refurbished device.

And that’s what we are going to discuss today and let you know if you should save money and go for a refurbished iPad. Let’s get right into it.

My Experience with a Refurbished Device?

When I first thought about buying a refurbished iPad, I did my research and wanted to buy from the industry experts like Phonebot. I've had brought a refurbished iPad from them and wanted to share my thoughts about how well it has held up over this extended period of time. For those of you who don't know about refurbished iPads then let’s get that right out of the way.

According to Apple's own website, the refurbished device is an old device with an issue that had been returned to have the faulty components replaced, once the parts are replaced the casing of the device which in this case would be an iPad enclosure, is also replaced (depends on the condition). On top of this, Reputable retailers also replace the batteries to ensure that the devices don't have less than expected or subpar battery life. So, in essence, the iPad is almost brand-new as the outside case is new and all the internal components that were faulty have also been replaced according to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) guidelines.

Refurbished Apple iPad Air 2

All the way back in 2015, I purchased a refurbished Apple iPad Air 2 as I couldn't afford to buy a brand new one. I have now used the refurbished iPad for the last 5+ years, some people are sceptical about buying refurbished devices but in my experience, the refurbished iPad has been flawless. Upon purchase and unboxing of the iPad you wouldn't even know that it isn't new, apart from the fact that it might come in a different box as the casing is replaced. The device was completely new and just as premium as it would be if you bought a brand new iPad.

The refurbished Apple iPad Air 2 has worked flawlessly for me and so is the case for countless others. I've used it nearly every single day since it arrived at my house and the iPad has spent much of its life playing films, TV shows, YouTube, and even playing games. It handled everything I threw at it with ease and had no issues throughout the years of ownership.

Apple iPad Air 2 in 2021

You can even buy the latest iPads refurbished which in my opinion is great, mine still works pretty well as with all older iPads this isn't really unexpected. The Apple iPad Air 2 in my opinion is still completely usable in 2021. The Apple iPad Air 2 might not be the fastest but is completely usable and perfect for tasks such as media consumption and it is still capable of gaming, obviously, it won’t run at the same graphics setting as the latest iPads with newer chipsets.

If you really want to push this iPad it is also capable of editing videos and the experience is good. It is a capable device but you might have to be a little bit patient with the device.

I could go on and on about describing how this iPad Air 2 holds up in 2021 but this isn't the purpose of the article, rather I'm here to explain what it is like to have used a refurbished device for an extended period of time and to summarize my thoughts.

Refurbished iPad are worth it

A refurbished iPad is completely fine even after 5+ years of continuous use, assuming you buy from a reputable retailer like Phonebot. They maintain the level of quality refurbishing their devices, I bought my iPad Air 2 from them and I have no issues recommending their products to anyone trying to save money. Refurbished devices are great for people who are looking for a new device or on a budget, they provide better value for money than brand new phones. Why pay $1000 for a brand new device when you can have the same device in brand new condition at half the price? On top of that, they are unlocked which means that you can use them with your preferred carrier and there aren’t any restrictions. They often come with a warranty which is great and another reason why you should consider buying them.

I hope this review was helpful.
