What Venues do Andrew and Luke Lazarus Own?

Andrew Lazarus is a long-time real estate entrepreneur who has had many years of success in the Sydney area. For the past three decades, he has been working hard in real estate development in the Sydney area, improving local hotels. He and his company, Eastern Hotels Group, have taken several important hotels and transformed them into properties that are even more of an asset to their communities. Andrew Lazarus is known for choosing stunning hotels that just need some refurbishment to better serve their communities. Today, he works closely with his son, Luke Lazarus, to make these hotels the gems of their neighborhoods.

Each of the hotels that have been purchased by Andrew Lazarus has been a unique property that has its own personality and its own community usage. He has brought a number of hotels up to date and poised them for better community engagement. They are ideal places for local events, and they become important parts of their areas. Andrew Lazarus has long been an entrepreneur, owning many businesses in the Sydney area and becoming an expert on the local hotels. He has also been deeply involved in local philanthropy. Today with the help of fellow entrepreneur, and son, Luke Lazarus, he can keep living out all of these roles.

Andrew and Luke Lazarus now own several important area hotels as a pair. These hotels are special properties that both hoteliers have seen a lot of potential in.

Shoal Bay Country Club

This hotel is just a couple of hours from Sydney, and it features an amazing seaside location. With its white-sand beaches and its beautiful waters, it's a great place to spend some time on the shore with great meals and cocktails. It frequently features live music for a fun and vibrant atmosphere. Open since 1934, this hotel has been one of the most iconic venues in the area. In 2017, Andrew Lazarus spent $16 million to refurbish it and make it a shining jewel next to the sea. The new venue is full of nostalgia for its past as well as a modern, cosmopolitan facility that is family-friendly. It has beautiful views of the ocean as well as a pub and picturesque outdoor seating. It's a great venue for people of all ages and is perfect for events such as weddings on the beach.

The Exchange Hotel

Owned by Andrew and Luke Lazarus, this venue was purchased in 2016. In 2020 it had a multi-million-dollar renovation to make it up to date and ready to be used widely by the Hamilton area. It opened in 1880, and it has been a historic pub that has been celebrated by those in the area as a fixture in the community. From live sports to live music and other activities, there is something going on at this venue every night of the week. It has amazing pub food, and its renovation has made it the best place in the area for live music. The venue even has its own app so you can keep up on who is performing, when the featured events are, what's on the menu, and the daily specials.

Macquarie Hotel Sale

This Liverpool hotel is a major property that was under renovation when the Lazarus group bought it. This $25 million hotel is well-known in the area today as the area's best gaming pub. It's the top place for gaming, and it also offers a bistro for upscale dining. Macquarie Hotel is a large venue, taking up a 1,000 sq m block. It has many great spaces such as a beer garden and a sports bar. In the late 1800s, the original hotel was built. In 1938, it was rebuilt, and in 2015, it underwent major renovations. The Lazarus family sold The Macquarie Hotel in 2016. Today it's a staple of the area and perfect for a wide range of nights out and events.

The Beach Hotel Sale

Andrew and Luke Lazarus also owned Newcastle's The Beach Hotel, and it was recently sold. They purchased the hotel in 2019 and made changes that greatly increased its value. Selling for $40 million, the hotel is on Merewether Beach and has long been a beloved hotel both by locals and guests. Its scenery is spectacular, and the community enjoys the bistro, private event areas, and gaming room.
