Lunar New Year finds a local home at West HQ

Western Sydney’s leading dining and entertainment precinct, West HQ, is set to become the centre of the local community this Lunar New Year as Australia's most culturally diverse region marks the Year of the Horse.

From Tuesday 17 February, West HQ will be abuzz as members, guests and their families come together to enjoy and celebrate the special occasion with dining, entertainment and experiences that extend the entire 13 days.

“Lunar New Year is shaped by bringing friends and family together and celebrated through food, family and shared moments,” West HQ Chief Executive Richard Errington said.

“Designed to appeal to the local community, the West HQ Lunar New Year event will feature ceremonial drums and lion dances, specially curated banquets and sweet treats, plus moments of instant rewards across the 13-day festival period.

With almost 25 per cent of Western Sydney residents with Asian ancestry - including large communities from the Philippines, China, Korea and Vietnam - Lunar New Year is deeply embedded in our community.

This is one of Australia's most culturally diverse regions, and this celebration reflects that reality."

At the centre of the celebrations, CHU Restaurant by China Doll will offer Lunar New Year Prosperity Banquets specially curated by China Doll’s Frank Shek and the CHU team, with refined dishes inspired by timeless pan-Asian lunar new year tradition. Complementing the award-winning à la carte menu, the exclusive $88 and $108 banquets invite families and friends to celebrate and savour the Lunar New Year moments around the table.

On key days throughout the festival, there will be multiple ceremonial drum and vibrant Lion Dance performances to usher in prosperity, happiness and good fortune to the West HQ dining precinct and CHU Restaurant. Adding a sweet seasonal touch, Gelatissimo will feature Lunar New Year flavours of Ube, Matcha, Dragon fruit and Lychee

Throughout the 13-day celebration, members and guests of the precinct, including Fitness centres SGAC and One55 and the Novotel Sydney West HQ will receive instant reward scratch cards, with prizes including West HQ Dining Gift Cards, CHU Restaurant by China Doll Gift Cards, Novotel twin-room accommodations and thousands of instant reward coffee, gelato and soft drink vouchers.
