Veteran Wealth Strategist / “Personal CFO” Mark Fried Stresses Education And An All-Encompassing “Maximum Planning” Approach

While Helping Clients Fix Retirement Blind Spots, TFG Wealth Management President’s Many Charitable Community Endeavors Include Helping Secure Benefits As An Accredited Veteran Service Officer

Philadelphia, PA – June 25, 2015 - Growing up in the Atlantic City, NJ suburb of Margate, Mark Fried has fond dinner table memories of hearing his father discuss his views on financial issues and the stock market. These conversations, along with the later encouragement of G. Edward DeSeve, his finance professor at the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania, would ultimately inspire Fried to launch his career in Financial Services in 1989.

During his lucrative early years in the industry, he served as President of Stone Bridge Trust Company (a private trust for wealthy families) and Executive VP and Director of Stone Bridge Mutual Funds – all while launching related businesses helping with pensions and retirement plans for small and medium sized companies.

His deep connection to family later led him to launch the current phase of his career as the Founder and President of the TFG Wealth Management, a Philadelphia area independent advisory firm, which has grown from its flagship Bucks County location in Newtown to a second location in Doylestown – with a third location in Chadds Ford set to open in the near future.

Since opening its doors, Fried has been determined to help his growing clientele of pre-retirees and retirees deal with the financial uncertainties they experience in their lives leading up to and during retirement. He established the firm with one primary objective: helping each client meet three primary financial objectives – control, security and freedom.

Fried’s influence as an expert wealth strategist extends beyond his direct dealing with his clients as well. He has been featured and/or quoted in local, national and digital newspapers, including USA Today, Philadelphia Inquirer and The Fiscal Times. He has shared financial advice on numerous TV and radio segments on Fox Business News, the “Financial Tips” segment of PHL17 and NBC News Money Matters.

Fried launched his firm with a simple two-fold mission: 1) Education, or making sure that clients know how to make smart and appropriate financial decisions and understand the strategies he creates for them and how they’re progressing; and 2) Showing them in great detail how the financial system works to help them achieve their personal and financial goals. His goal has long been to help middle class families and clients who have from $250,000 to $5 million in investable assets.

Many wealth strategists attempt to use clever terms to help with their branding, but when Fried says he uses an innovative approach called “Maximum Planning” to get clients to and through their retirement, he backs it up with powerful educational tools, painstaking detail and fresh methods and technology that most financial professionals don’t consider or have access to. In a nutshell, he defines “Maximum Planning” as “getting the most out of your money, getting as much out of your investment account and into your pocket.”

As an Accredited Veteran Service Officer of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VSO), he assists the veterans of Pennsylvania and their families with the qualification and application process for government financial assistance programs. Thus far, he has helped approximately 300 families receive $3 million in benefits for long term care from the VA.

A devoted family man to Alexis, his wife of 21 years, and his children Steven (a freshman at Tulane University) and Carly (a student at George School, a private local high school), Fried is involved in many service oriented and philanthropic endeavors.

He has participated four times in 100-mile charity bike rides for Livestrong and this year is doing a Multiple Sclerosis “Mudder,” participating in a muddy obstacle course race for people suffering from MS and related diseases. Fried always matches the money he raises. For all of his charitable work and professional excellence, he was named “Man of the Year” in 2009 by the Federation of Jewish Men’s Club.

“Being a father of two amazing kids, I have learned that life is not just about what you say, but about what you do,” Fried says. “It’s important that we’re constantly working on ourselves and growing in a great variety of ways.”
