Notes: Teams in all three NASCAR series will run the same Goodyear tire codes this week . . . this combination of left- and right-side tires is different than what was run at Kentucky last season . . . in 2014, Sprint Cup teams ran a different left-side than Xfinity and Camping World Truck teams at this track . . . In Sprint Cup, this left-side (D-4392) features compound, construction and mold shape changes; while this right-side (D-4646) features the same compound with a construction change . . . these changes bring this tire set-up in line with what is run at other speedways and will enhance grip . . . in Xfinity and Camping World Truck, the compounds remain the same on both sides of the car, there are construction and mold shape changes on the left-side and just a construction change on the right-side . . . the Xfinity and Truck changes also bring this tire set-up into line with what is run at similar tracks and will give the cars/trucks more grip . . . teams are very familiar with this left-side tire code, having run it at Texas, Dover and Chicagoland (Xfinity only) already this season, as well as many other times over the past several seasons . . . this is a new right-side tire code . . . this tire set-up came out of a Goodyear test at Kentucky on April 13-14 . . . .drivers participating in that test were Greg Biffle, Jamie McMurray, Brett Moffitt and Ryan Newman . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Kentucky . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
