Media Alert: Charlotte Laces Up For The Fourth Annual 5K Walk 4 Mommy

(Charlotte, June 25, 2015) - "Walk 4 Mommy" is a non-profit organization with proceeds going to single mothers in the community founded by Charlotte media personality - Sport E. Odie. The 4th annual walk will be held on August 8th, 2015 at 8:00 AM. The trail runs along Midtown Park, S. Kings Drive in the Metropolitan area offset uptown Charlotte. Early registration is only $25 per person and $5 for children under 12. Contributions can occur by individually participating in the race, by joining a team, by forming your own team, or by becoming a sponsor. Over the year's the 5K has donated over $15,000 to well deserving single mother's around Charlotte.

The day's schedule of events will include a commencement ceremony, check-in and warm up from exclusive trainers as well as appearances from celebrity guests and top Charlotte yoga instructors to the fit playlist of DJ Cuttz.

About Walk 4 Mommy

John Adams (Sport E. Odie), Lester Adams, and April Adams created Walk 4 Mommy in dedication to their mother Dorothy Elizabeth Adams. Dorothy Elizabeth Adams was born June 23, 1957 and passed away due to complications from cancer in Charlotte NC on February 28, 2012.

Dorothy Elizabeth Adams inspired Walk 4 Mommy through her love, sacrifice, and dedication. More than anything, Dotti was a powerful, and loving single mother to 3 wonderful children. She single handedly instilled values and morals to raising her children, and they became prominent members of the community thriving in successful careers and community outreach.

This year's goal of Walk 4 Mommy is to raise $15,000 to help single parent households with overdue bills, groceries, and childcare. Participants are encouraged to donate diapers, toys, and children's toiletries. Last years walk was a huge success and this year, with your help, we are hoping to help even more families.
