LANDER, Wyo. – Tuesdays just got a whole lot better with a live music concert series kicking off its inaugural season in downtown Lander. Presented by Fremont Toyota, Lander LIVE will bring nationally touring headliner bands Lucero, Donna the Buffalo, Pimps of Joytime, and Elephant Revival to town for a series of free, all-ages concerts in Jaycee Park off of Main Street.

Lander LIVE begins on Tuesday, July 21st with Lucero, a Memphis-based American rock/country group. The following three shows take place every other Tuesday through September 1st, featuring Donna the Buffalo (August 8th), Pimps of Joytime (August 18th), and Elephant Revival (September 1st). All shows are free, open to all-ages, and begin at 5:30pm and end at 8:30pm. In addition to music, local vendors will sell a variety of food and the Lander Brewing Company will sell beer and wine. More information about the shows can be found at www.landerchamber.org/landerlive or on the Lander LIVE Facebook page.

“Lander LIVE is modeled after other ‘concert in the park’ events around the country,” said Rose Burke, Event Coordinator for the Lander Chamber of Commerce. “We purposefully recruited high-caliber bands that don’t typically play in Wyoming.” Burke adds, “Our hope is to create and host another excellent community event for locals that also attracts visitors and tourists to Lander.”

Burke noted that all of the bands in the 2015 lineup are impressive musical acquisitions for the remote mountainscape of Lander. Lucero, a band that combines rock, country, and punk into their music, has a large and loyal national fan base. “We hear that folks are traveling from Denver, Salt Lake, Fort Collins, and beyond to attend the Lucero show in Lander,” says Burke. Additionally, Donna the Buffalo will arrive shortly after their gig at the Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival in Alta, Idaho. Pimps of Joytime arrive in Lander after an impressive European tour. Elephant Revival will be playing between sold out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheater and performs at Lander LIVE before heading on to Seattle’s “Bumbershoot” for Labor Day weekend.

Each show is expected to be unique and offer a variety of music genres. Lucero plays a multinuanced version of American rock. Donna the Buffalo, from upstate New York, blends folk, zydeco, and reggae into their country music. Pimps of Joytime is a soul, funk group with performers from New Orleans and Brooklyn, New York. Finally, Elephant Revival is an up-and-coming folk group from Colorado that has made a splash opening for well known bluegrass groups such as Trampled by Turtles, The String Cheese Incident, and Bela Fleck.

Lander LIVE is presented by Fremont Toyota and additional partnering sponsors and organizations. Please thank these businesses by supporting them with your patronage.
