(TWINSBURG, Ohio) Sept. 18, 2015 – On Wednesday, Sept. 16, Hattie Larlham’s corporate communications team and public relations consultant Scott Juba received a 2015 SoMe Award at the Portage Power After Hours event at Kent State University. The awards recognized organizations with an active presence in Portage County that have demonstrated outstanding use of social media in their communication initiatives.

Hattie Larlham Internal Communication Officer Jackie LoPresti and Radar Public Relations & Consulting President Scott Juba accepted the award and participated in a social media panel discussion. Juba and LoPresti play key roles in developing Hattie Larlham’s social media strategy and content.

Among Hattie Larlham’s recent social media successes, the organization’s 2014 Giving Tuesday online campaign contributed to $55,755 in donations on that national day of giving, up 64.5 percent from the previous year.  Additionally, Hattie Larlham nearly tripled its rate of engagement on Facebook in 2014.  That rate of growth has continued into the current year, with Hattie Larlham already eclipsing the total amount of Facebook engagement from 2014 in just the first eight months of 2015.

The 2015 SoMe Awards were presented by Kent State University Libraries, Kent Area Chamber of Commerce, Streetsboro Chamber of Commerce, Portage Development Board and FocalPoint Social Media.  Other award recipients included Step 2, Metis Construction Services and Kent State University.
