A sailing vacation is the new norm. You want to spend some time in the water with friends or family to rejuvenate your body. In essence, there are many more benefits of spending your holiday in the water than staying in a hotel. The water trip offers you an opportunity to explore beaches and islands.

However, this goal is achievable if you have a boat. Buying a boat might be beyond your budget. Fortunately, Yarra River Cruises and other companies are here to save you. These companies offer boat hiring services. But before you decide to hire a boat, you need to consider the following aspects:

The presence of a skipper

Are you looking to sail as a group or alone? If sailing alone, you need to be a skipper. When in a group, you should have a skipper among you. A skipper is a person with previous boat riding experience. This person will be the captain of your boat. However, they must possess a boat riding license or license. If not, you will require to hire one.

Companies like Yarra River Cruises have standby skippers. You can hire both the boat and skipper as a package to get a better deal. But if you want to get real-life experience, you can consider taking some boating courses. With the certification and necessary licenses, you will enjoy taking the steering seat and taking your group through the sea navigation tour.

Number of people that will be on board

A vacation is enjoyable when alone. But this is not the case with the sailing tour. Though you can enjoy it, you will get the best experience when you do it in a group. Sailing in a group brings onboard different types of people who make the sail fascinating.

However, you need to consider the number of people to be on board when hiring a boat. Always go for a large boat when you have a bigger group. Overloading a boat will increase your chances of suffering a boat capsize. In most cases, Melbourne boat hire service providers will allow a boat to have 10-15 individuals.

Boat condition

The condition of a boat should be the next consideration. Getting the right boat will equal a better and enjoyable moment. Similarly, a poorly-conditioned boat will ruin your time in the water. Check to ensure you pick a well-maintained and serviced boat.

Also, ensure it is easy for you or the skipper in your group to ride. With the right selection, you will have the best memories out of the sail.

Your budget

How much are you willing to spend on the sailing tour? Different boat hiring companies like Yarra River Cruises have varying packages. If you have a fat pocket, you can pick a luxurious cruise. But when you have a shoestring budget, considering an economical boat is important. All you should ensure is that it will serve your purpose and offer the desired experience.

Now, you know what you need when hiring a boat. Go and enjoy your sailing tour.
