How To Choose A Car Shipping Company

  • Written by: NewsServices.com

How to find a good car shipping company? It isn't easy, because there are so many. How can you be sure that it will do its job well and your car will reach its destination without any scratches or loading problems?

Choosing a suitable car transporter helps to know what should be taken into consideration. If you want your vehicle to move safely, you should ensure that a reliable car transport service ships it.

You can find more about the company's reputation on the Internet; ask your friends and relatives for references; check if there are negative reviews about them.

The first thing to choose a suitable car transporter is to know what questions you should ask.

How much will it cost? Will the price depend on the distance to be travelled? How will it change if I need a fast transport service? The final price of transportation should be written in the contract.

Make sure you read all the small print before signing it, because otherwise, you may find yourself responsible for some extra fees. It is important. The more information about the costs you get, the less likely you will be surprised by a high bill.

Before choosing a car transporter, ask questions like:

- How many kilometres of driving can I expect? Can it be longer than what is stated in the offer? If so, what changes will it cause in the price?

- Does the price include full or partial coverage of some damage? If so, what does it exactly cover and what is excluded?

- What are the hidden costs I might have to pay? For example, is there any extra cost for loading or unloading my vehicle at/from the carrier/storage location(s)? Do I need to rent a ramp or forklift?

- Will I need to sign the car carrier contract on the day of pick up, or can I do it in advance?

-What type of vehicle will my car be transported in? Under what conditions will it be driven, and for how long? What does it cover? If possible, try to choose a company that has enough modern and well-maintained equipment. Therefore, it is advisable to choose a company with the following characteristics:

- Check their reputation on the Internet; ask friends or relatives for references; check if there are any bad reviews about them.

- Ask how long they have been in business and how many vehicles they transport each year. If it is their first year of operations, choose a more reliable company.

- If possible, check if there are cars in their storage or on the road that you know before choosing them. Ask how many employees work for the company and if they have staff members who speak your language.

- Check what kind of shipping insurance they have.

- Check whether any additional costs might be added without you knowing it beforehand.

- Avoid companies that only accept cash, if possible. If it is not possible, ask for a signed contract to protect your interests as best as you can.

- Ask about the equipment of the company's fleet: what type of car carriers it uses, how many cars can be carried on each one, and the width and length of each vehicle that will be transported.

- Ask for online access to current photos of your vehicle in transit.

- Check if they offer flexible services - if your travel plans change or you want to delay the shipping for any reason.

- Check what happens if something goes wrong with your car on the way to the storage or during shipping. How are complaints handled?

Choosing a car transport company can be difficult, but it is important not to rush into making decisions. Instead, a good idea would be to read some reviews about different companies before choosing one.
