LOS ANGELES (April 25, 2016) – Rising actor JADIEL DOWLIN is proving to be a breakout star earning a 2016 Daytime Emmy Award Nomination for his role in Amazon’s critically-acclaimed original children’s series ANNEDROIDS. The award nomination is in the category for ‘Outstanding Performer in a Children's or Pre-School Children's Series’ and comes for his work in Season Two of this celebrated live-action adventure series.

Earlier this year, Dowlin was nominated for two Young Artist Awards (2016) and two Young Entertainer Awards (2016). For his work in Season One, he won a Young Artist Awards (2015) for Outstanding Young Ensemble in a TV Series and received an individual nomination for Best Leading Young Actor. He also picked-up a Joey Award (2015) for Best Actor in a TV Action Leading Role along with a nomination for Best Young Ensemble.

ANNEDROIDS follows three tweens, genius scientist Anne (Addison Holley) and her friends Nick (Jadiel Dowlin) and Shania (Adrianna Di Liello) as they embark on the biggest experiment of them all: growing up. Set in a junkyard laboratory, these young friends along with their android robot creation Hand, Eyes and Pal, showcase through trial and error, how science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) can inspire children to do great things.

Dowlin is excited that his work on the show is resonating with so many young viewers. Dowlin adds "I'm immensely grateful that my first lead role on TV is in a production that is unique and seen in over 100 countries. It displays the importance of the 'Science of Friendship', and that girls can also take part in activities which are usually associated with boys, like science and inventing. It also shows that it's cool for a boy to hang out with girls creating scientific adventures, and kids get excited about learning as they realize that science is in our day-to-day lives, and it can be fun!"

ANNEDROIDS was created by Emmy-nominated J.J. Johnson (Odd Squad, Dino Dan) and is scheduled to release Season Three later this summer.

The role marked a first for Dowlin as a series lead, but he also gained legions of fans for his recurring appearance as a Judge on the reality competition series, ZOINK’d. His credits also include guest starring role on DirecTV’s Rogue and most recently the television pilot demo The Last Dog Standing. He’s also lent his voice to the animated children’s show Super Why! and the live-action/animation hybrid series The Stanley Dynamic. He discovered his singing skills when he auditioned and landed a role for the Japanese produced DVD series GrapeSEED. This young talent started his career modeling and appearing in commercials at the age of 12 and hasn’t looked back.

From Burlington, Ontario Canada, Dowlin is proud of his unique cultural background. His parents emigrated from Panama, instilling the importance of fluently speaking Spanish, while also embracing his Afro-Caribbean heritage. This helps to explain his appreciation of a multi-cultural music, flavorful foods and his affinity for accents.

Jadiel Dowlin is represented by AMI Artist Management (Ontario).
